There are a variety of time management methods on the market.

Some of them only really work if you’re organized in the first place. Things like diaries, whether they’re old fashioned paper ones or flashy computerized ones.

You can go on courses that claim to help you develop your time management methods.

Ultimately, though, it’s probably worth working on your mind as well as these other methods.

Your unconscious mind will laser target anything you want it to. Whether that’s procrastination or another subtle form of time wasting.

Using Conversational Hypnosis

Words are powerful things.

We use them everywhere but don’t always pay heed to them.

One of the best ways of using hypnosis, especially on people who “can’t be hypnotized” is to slip it into everyday conversation.

Lots of people use conversational hypnosis without even knowing it.  If you were ever told when you were younger that you would “never be any good” at something, that’s a post hypnotic suggestion that your unconscious mind will act on.

We need to be especially conscious of this when we’re dealing with youngsters - they will often take our suggestions to heart.

When we’re older, we tend to assume that people in positions of authority know what they’re talking about. So when your doctor tells you that there’s nothing to worry about, that’s a good thing. But if they announce that you have an illness or other problem, it’s time to get a second opinion fast!

Get Back To Sleep With Hypnosis

You know the feeling. It’s the middle of the night and, for whatever reason, you’ve woken up.

All you need to do is get back to sleep.

Which is often easier said than done.

Your mind has woken up as well. And it has no intention of going back to sleep without a fight.

The trick is to distract your mind and let it quieten down for long enough to let you get back to that much needed sleep.

Fast Food Obesity

Depending on what you read and likely who sponsored the research, fast food does or does not contribute to obesity.

Unless you’re a saint, you probably eat fast food at least once in a while. Maybe more often. For some people, fast food is a fact of life.

But it’s certainly easier to regain your natural shape and weight if you cut down on your fast food intake.

Learn How To Type Faster

Increasingly we need keyboard skills.

It seems that everything in life has a keyboard attached, even if it’s a miniature keyboard like the one on your cell phone.

Most of the time, we’re sat in front of a real keyboard. Probably poking at keys and hitting the right ones most of the time.

Even if you’re a hunt and peck two finger typist, it will pay you to learn how to type faster.

You’ll spend less time replying to emails. Your internet searches will speed up. Your letter and report writing will improve.

Speed Reading Programs

OK, you’ve decided you want (or need) to read faster. But how do you go about it?

There are various speed reading programs out there, ranging from books via courses and even up to full blown seminars.

Which speed reading program is best for you?

If you learn OK from books then naturally a speed reading book will be best. Look for a book that uses the speedreading method to teach you (Paul Scheele’s Photoreading is the best one I’ve found).

Other people learn better from audio courses. There are plenty of these around to help you, including a hypnosis speed reading program  that works with your mind on lots of different levels.

Finally, the most expensive option is a speed reading seminar. If you’ve tried the other options but got stuck, then this is worth investigating. Check online to see where your nearest course is being offered.

How To Cure a Hangover

If you have a choice, then obviously the best answer to how to cure a hangover is to drink moderately.

But sometimes our best intentions go awry and we end up with a hangover that is either going to wreck our day or needs curing.

Food helps your body deal with a hangover, so if there is a chance you’ll be drinking more than you might, have a good meal beforehand.

Stay off the caffeine, including cola mixers and energy drinks. They’ll only dehydrate you, which will make matters worse.

Drink plenty of water before you go to sleep. And whenever you wake up during the night. Anything to replace the liquid that alcohol gets rid of.

When you wake up in the morning, drink more water. Take some vitamin C to help your body as well. Eat breakfast, even if the thought of food doesn’t exactly appeal. Keep drinking water during the day. Eventually the hangover will start to diminish.

Dealing With Jet Lag

Jet lag is mainly caused by time zone differences. Your body clock is finely tuned and gets out of balance when you go through too many time zones too quickly.

There are various ways of dealing with jet lag:

If possible, start shifting your sleeping pattern so that you’re more attuned to the time zone you will be landing in.

Stay hydrated whilst flying. It’s very easy to become dehydrated on flights, so drink plenty of water.

When you board your flight, adjust your watch to the new time zone and sleep when you’d be sleeping at your destination, stay awake when you’d be awake.
