How To Repair Your New Years Resolutions

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I know, we’re less than a week in to the new year.

If you’ve kept all of them, congratulations!

But go on, admit it, have you really kept all those resolutions you made?

This article in the  American Chronical has more details, but the main reasons we do this are:

  1. We make the resolutions too complicated or too severe to follow.
  2. They’re negative - focusing on what you’re not going to do,  rather than what you are going to do.
  3. We’re denying an important need instead of working out how to change that to something positive. So for instance instead of focusing on our weight and over-eating, we should be looking at how to enjoy our food more.
  4. We expect to fail. We make resolutions but don’t really expect to keep them. Which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
  5. We don’t get any support. Instead of telling the whole world, concentrate on just telling those people who will support you in your goals.

So, if you’ve already given up on your New Years resolutions, read more about repairing them in this article.

And if you need help with anything specific, there’s almost certainly a hypnosis track available for it in our hypnosis store.
