Do you start eating when you’re bored?

You know the feeling. You’re feeling bored. Again.

So you go to the fridge or your “store” cupboard and look for something to eat.

Ideally, something “nice” to eat – cookies, chocolate, candy, that kind of thing.

It tastes good, even though you weren’t hungry before you ate your snack. And it relieves a few minutes where otherwise you’d just be sat around, doing nothing in particular.

You may not even realize that you engage in this kind of boredom eating, at least not until you step on the scales and the dial goes up further than you’d like.

So how can you stop yourself from eating when you’re bored?

Well, there are a few things you can do to help stop your waistline expanding every time you find yourself feeling bored.

A cheeky solution would be to get a new hobby – something to keep your mind of munching food just for the sake of it.

Another, more drastic, solution is to make sure that all those tempting nibbles are left in the grocery store rather than making their way to your home. This one is trickier, especially if you’re not the only one in your household.

The trouble with this second option is that it can make the treats you were eating even more tempting.

Another option is to use hypnosis to help train your mind to not instantly reach out for those tempting snacks the moment it feels boredom setting in.
