How To Stop Hair Pulling
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
It’s probably gotten to the stage where you don’t really notice that you’re pulling on your hair until it’s too late. Either your hair has been twisted and turned into a nasty matted glob of “something” or, worse still, you’ve actually got a clump of hair in your hand.
Yuck!
The good news is that this kind of habit can be turned round quite easily.
Because you’re not consciously pulling or twisting your hair, the easiest way is to tackle the problem at its root (no pun intended).
There are a few things you can try to change your habit. One is to wear a rubber band around your wrist and “snap” it whenever you catch yourself tugging at your hair. This is a really cheap form of aversion therapy and is surprisingly effective.
Don’t worry if you don’t catch yourself every time – your subconscious may well get sneakier before you can train it to do something more productive – just do this as often as you can.
Another way to stop hair pulling is to play yourself a hypnosis track.
Again, this is quick and easy. And it’s less “obvious” to others as well – unless you tell them, they won’t know what track you’re playing to yourself.
You can download a hypnosis for hair pulling MP3 here and start listening to it straight away.
