How to Stop Self Sabotage
Some of us are better at self sabotage than others but we all manage to sabotage our intentions at times, so what’s the best way to stop self sabotage? Or is it even possible to stop sabotaging ourselves?
The good news is that you’ve already recognized the self sabotage problem which is a lot more than a fair number of other people. The trick now is to take some steps to kick the habit of sabotaging yourself once and for all.
Help with how to stop self sabotage:
Work out what triggers you to sabotage yourself. There will probably be certain situations where the thought of self sabotage is so far from your mind that it just never happens. And there will be other situations where something deep inside of you just puts anything and everything between you and success.
The good news is that once you start to work out what is sabotaging you, you’ll be able to take steps to nipping it in the bud.
The bad news is that this is probably so ingrained that it may not work with the real “biggies” at first – it’s usually better to pick a situation that is fairly small – somewhere at the bottom end of a 1 to 10 scale – so that it’s not so intimidating to deal with it.
Once you’ve got to this stage, run the event through your mind and work out where you trip yourself up.
Eliminate one of those factors the first time you try this – you may still fail but you won’t fail dismally – and work up to bigger factors over time.
It’s also worth getting some help to do this. Maybe talking the situation through with a close friend, possibly a family member or maybe a work colleague. Anyone who’ll be supportive rather than tell you that you’re being a jerk by sabotaging yourself.
Hypnosis is another excellent way of doing this. The hypnosis download won’t judge, it won’t say “why were you so stupid” or anything like that. Instead, it will work with you to come to a solution that will stop you from your self sabotage habit.
