Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking

It’s said that we fear public speaking even more than we fear death.

If that’s true, it’s a sad state of affairs.

But truth be told, most people in your audience will be very happy that it’s you doing the speech, not them.

So, the day has come and you are due to give some kind of speech in public. It could be a presentation to a small group of co-workers or you could be on stage in front of hundreds or even thousands of others. You may even be talking to an “invisible” audience in the form of television or radio viewers. Nowadays, there’s a chance that your public speaking may be shown on YouTube or elsewhere on the internet.

If the nerves are kicking in, what do you need to do?

First, although it’s probably easier said than done, stay calm. Deep breaths help here. A stiff drink may or may not help – only you can be the judge of that.

Next, talk to one person. Not tens or hundreds or thousands. Focus on one person and talk to them as though you’re having a face to face conversation.

Finally, get help!

Get hold of a good hypnosis track like this one and listen to it several times before you get up to speak.
