It seems like pornography is getting more and more prevalent. With the internet, it’s just a click or two away wherever you are. If it seems that you’re spending every waking moment on sites like Red Tube and Porn Hub, does that mean you have an addiction to pornography? And if so, is there anything you can do about it?
Signs of Addiction to Pornography
One of the first signs of being addicted to porn is when you instinctively browse to porn sites the moment you’re alone in a room. Of course, you’ll have another tab open in your browser, just in case you need to look “normal” when someone walks through the door. But, let’s face it, it’s easy to get distracted when you’re watching seemingly private scenesĀ on your computer screen, even with the sound turned down.
Another sign is when you start to get unrealistic expectations about sex. Porn is like any other movie – it’s fiction. Girls don’t magically drop everything the moment you walk into the room, guys don’t perform for hours on end in every conceivable position, 3-somes (and more-somes) don’t happen every time as if by magic you want to have sex. But we do get our expectations set by watching these kind of clips too often. So another sign of having an addiction to pornography could be that you keep raising the bar in your sex life and keep wanting things to happen that would never have crossed most people’s minds a decade or two ago.
Deep down, you probably already know that you’re getting more addicted to watching porn at every possible moment.
But it’s not something you can often discuss in polite company.
Which is where hypnosis can come in handy. It’s discrete – much like those movies you’ve been watching – and works with you to reduce your porn addiction without anyone else knowing that you had a problem, much less that you’re dealing with it.
