How To Stop Your Fear of Clowns (Coulrophobia)

Most people see clowns as funny or at least non-threatening rather than having a fear of clowns.

But what can you do if you’ve developed a fear of clowns? What can you do to overcome your coulrophobia and start to live your life unaffected by clowns?

Where does a fear of clowns come from?

Stop fear of clownsYour fear of clowns could have come from anywhere but it’s usually developed either from a bad experience with an actual clown or from the way that they are portrayed in movies. Oddly for something that’s supposed to be funny, clowns are often portrayed as nasty or evil. Maybe it’s the mask that they’re wearing that makes us question their motives or maybe we secretly see The Joker from the Batman comics.

It doesn’t much matter how you acquired your fear, although it can sometimes help in getting rid of your phobia. Some techniques such as the NLP rewind technique run a movie backwards in your mind to erase the shortcuts that we take when we react to things. This can be very effective with any fears.

But it doesn’t help if some people are unsympathetic towards you. They don’t know what’s going on to cause your clown phobia. They just mock you for keeping a wide berth when you go anywhere near a famous burger chain.

So what can you do to get rid of this awkward fear?

Like many fears that can’t be rationalized away, hypnosis is a useful tool to fight your phobia of clowns.

It works deep down with your subconscious mind but all you need to do consciously is listen to an MP3. Once you’ve done this a few times, you’ll find your fear begins to melt away without any real effort on your part.

And you’ll be able to at least see a clown without starting to quake with fear.

You can treat yourself to a hypnosis track to stop your fear of clowns here.
