Duh! How To Stop Feeling Stupid All The Time

Ok, we all do stupid things occasionally but how can we stop feeling stupid almost all of the time?

Because it’s when we start to make a habit of doing dumb, stupid things more often than not that it can get to be a problem…

Help to stop feeling stupid…

Stop feeling stupid imageThe problem is, once you start telling yourself that you’re always stupid, you start to believe youself. Which in itself really is a stupid thing to do. Grr!

So how can you change your mind so that despite all the evidence to the contrary, it stops believing that you’re really that dumb?

You can start by recognizing all those times when you do sensible things. For instance, not picking hot coals out of the barbeque or stopping at red lights. The more you focus on the times you get things right, the more your mind will change the way it looks at you and gradually it will begin to hold you in less contempt than it currently does.

Catch yourself when you do things right and give yourself some gentle praise – even something as thinking “well done!” to yourself can help change the direction of your thoughts.

It’s also important to remember that there will still be times when you do something that makes you feel stupid. That’s human nature. Unless your stupidity was beyond belief (I’ll let you imagine that one) then just shrug it off as something that happens occasionally. Ideally tell yourself that these events are getting less and less common – your brain will gradually come round to your point of view if you tell it often enough.

Another way to speed up the process is to use hypnosis. All you need to do is play yourself this specially written hypnosis track a few times and it will work on training your mind to realize that (at least most of the time) you’re not as stupid as it originally thought.
