How To Stop Nose Picking
Go on, admit it, you occasionally get the urge to pick your nose but you usually stop nose picking just in time.
But what happens if the urge changes from something you can control to a habit? One where you seem to be constantly picking your nose, much to the disgust of everyone within eyesight of you.
As you’d expect with any habit, it’s been given a name: Rhinotillexomania. But it’s a lot easier to call it nose picking…
Stop Nose Picking Ideas
Apart from the anti-social side of nose picking, there’s another problem. If the habit starts to become an obsession, you run the risk of damaging your nostrils. Not to mention the risk of a nose bleed.
So how can you stop picking your nose?
Start by catching yourself as your finger instinctively makes its way to your nose. If you can catch yourself before it reaches its destination then you’re going in the right direction to stop nose picking or at least reduce the number of times it happens.
Reward yourself with praise (or even a small treat) each time you catch yourself in time to stop your nose picking.
But don’t beat yourself up if you don’t always manage – stopping habits including picking your nose can take time. Don’t expect overnight results.
My personal recommendation to stop nose picking is that you use the power of hypnosis to change your habit. The success rate is high and it’s as simple as listening to a hypnosis recording a few times until the habit gets reduced with no effort from you. There’s no risk – hypnosis will only help you change the things you want to change – and the fact that you’re using hypnosis to cure yourself will be a complete secret, unless you choose to tell people otherwise.
