Tips on how to stop being embarrassed all the time

If you’re forever feeling embarrassed then it’s high time to stop being embarrassed! And as you blush at the mere thought of that, take time to think about what your perpetual embarrassment is doing to your life and how things could improve if you could only stop being embarrassed all the time.

Some people overcome their embarrassment problems by actually welcoming the feelings accompanied by being embarrassed. They almost revel in it and it seems like the deeper they delve into their embarrassment, the happier they are.

If you’re always putting your foot in your mouth then it’s worth training yourself to think before you speak. Even a fraction of a second between thinking and opening your mouth could save you being embarrassed as often.

Practice this when you aren’t face to face with someone – just run through a few possible scenarios and decide how you’d react. Then do your best to put that into practice more often.

Remember that most everything you see on television and at the movies isn’t perfect first time. It’s usually rehearsed and quite often there’s more than one “take” before the final version that you see on screen.

And remember that real life doesn’t allow that kind of rehearsal all the time.

So if one of the reasons for you being embarrassed is that you’re not 100% perfect, chill. No-one else is either.

Next up, there’s a good chance that the only person who’ll actually notice you’ve messed up is you. You might be being embarrassed by a bad hair day or a gaffe or whatever. But the people you’re with will be concentrating on all their mess ups – or potential mess ups – and may not even notice the mountain you’ve made out of the molehill.
